This case involves a client who wishes to remain confidential so we will refrain from using their name. The project involves a coin sorter used in government operations.
We began working with this client in 2017. They brought with them a sample to Yukai’s exhibition area. We learned that the wear plate of their coin sorters was easily damaged, resulting in frequent changing of the part, resulting in high maintenance costs and severely hindering their productivity.
Communications continued after the exhibition and we realized we needed to create drawings of the wear plates once determining the desired dimensions. The ideal wear plate would need to withstand long-term impact. Its mirror surface roughness would need to be Ra0.28 and should offer superior scratch resistance.
Yukai has undertaken this project and planned the following production steps:After manufacturing a proof, the client was satisfied with the design and performance of our wear plates. The wear resistance and service life of the products was 5 times better than the original wear plates used previously, meaning they could save a significant amount of money and time by avoiding frequent repairs.
